| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Coleman 5308-700 Widebeam 4D Dual-action Flashlight provides a bright, portable light for any occasion. This dual-action flashlight has a regular path light that gives you a center-spot of light with a softer perimeter of light, plus a seven-watt U-tube fluorescent area light to brighten a work area. The Coleman Widebeam also has a flat surface base which allows the light to stand up-right when using the area lighting function. The regular flashlight beam is 50-percent broader than traditional flashlights, and the use of a Xenon blue-tipped bulb provides a whiter light. Additionally, this Coleman flashlight is designed with a 140-degree beam of light to more closely match the human peripheral field of vision. Features include a soft rubber handle, durable shock absorbing head, and push-button on/off switch. The Coleman Widebeam Dual-action flashlight requires four D batteries (not included). Manufacturer Warranty Limited three-year warranty

Rating the Coleman 4D Action Widebeam Flashlight January 7, 2009 Ronald Wyman (Commack, NY) The only thing that kept me from giving this device a 5-star rating is that it lacks the ability to focus the beam. That aside, this is a well-made, easy-to-operate and reasonably-priced item. I have two of them, one is used when dog walking after dark while its secondary use - as well as the primary use of the other flashlight - is for use in case of an electrical blackout or power failure. Well done, Coleman.
Christmas present December 9, 2008 Eddie Mack (North Carolina) I bought one of these for my father-in-law (What else do you get him?) and decided to buy one for myself. It's a good size and seems to work extremely well. I've read some of the horror stories on here about dropping the flashlight three feet and breaking it. I doubt this is a real concern. Reviews like this are probably just a competitor sabotaging this company with bad reviews.
