Bird Bath De-Icer January 6, 2009 Jade This de=icer works GREAT! Would buy it again. Using a saucer from a large flower pot works great because it is shallow and if there is to much water on top of the de-icer anything over 3 inches will freeze.
Birds like it December 29, 2008 Helen Willis (Winnemucca, NV) We purchased two of the Bird Bath De-Icers recently. One for a friend for Christmas, and one more for ourselves. We have had one in use for the past year (this is the second winter.) We are happy with it's performance, and the birds appreciate liquid water when the temperature gets way below freezing. It is effective to about 0 degrees F. Then the edges of the water start to freeze. I have to weight it down with a rock to keep it in place. We bought a replacement because this one is getting dark spots, probably algae, in the indentations that is hard to clean off.
It works Great! March 19, 2008 Charles K. Gorga 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent, you need to put a weight to hold it down, but once you have that it does what it's suppose to do.
Birdbath Heater March 6, 2008 B. Pullen (Tennessee) The heater is all it is advertised to be. I'm so glad I bought it (and so are our many birds!) No more pouring warm water in the morning. It fits our large birdbath just fine. Does not work (too big) in our railing birdbath.
Econo Bird Bath 44 Watts February 17, 2008 Kathy Tollenaere (SE Iowa) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've experienced a lot of ice, snow and freezing rain this Winter. The little birdbath has done a very nice job of keeping at least a good portion of water available for the birds. I placed a couple of 4" stones near it's edges to keep it below the waters' surface and to warm a bit more surface area.
