A handsome heavyweight, the Franklin rocking chair from Oxford Garden Designs will provide years of comfortable seating. With its gently curved seat and seatback, the chair cradles the sitter and is reassuringly supportive. It's also generous in its dimensions, with a wide seat, ample armrests, and a notably high seatback. Crafted from shorea wood, a weighty, teak-like semihardwood from Indonesia, the chair is highly resistant to rot and the elements. It also ages well, weathering to a soft, warm gray or maintaining its original color with periodic applications of teak oil. Like other Oxford Garden Designs pieces, the rocker is constructed with sturdy mortise and tenon joinery. The density and weight of the wood add to the stability of the construction.
