| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review Crafted from dense, weather-resistant wood, this chaise longue from Oxford Garden Designs is an excellent furnishing for the patio or pool deck. The wide seatback--23-1/2 inches--adjusts through five separate positions, from gently reclined to perfectly flat, with a simple notch system. The supporting crossbar for the seatback is made of steel for extra durability. Beneath the chair is a wooden tray, which slides out to either side for beverages, sunscreen, and books. When not in use, it tucks completely out of the way. Though heavy, this chair is easy enough to move, thanks to the stout wooden dowel at the foot and the rubber-treaded wooden wheels. Oxford Garden Designs builds the chair from shorea wood, a weighty, teak-like semihardwood from Indonesia, which is highly resistant to rot and the elements. It requires no finishing and ages well to a soft, warm gray. Alternatively, it will maintain its original color with seasonal applications of teak oil. The chair is constructed with sturdy mortise and tenon joinery and held together with brass and stainless-steel hardware. It measures 78-3/4 inches long when fully reclined. Simple assembly is required. --Emily Bedard

great product April 6, 2008 Kathleen A. Maclachlan (Nashville, TN) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought two of these last year and am ordering a couple more to go with them. They are stylish, functional, hold up well. The only quibble I have is that the wheels could be sturdier. The wooden wheel breaks apart easily; we don't move the chairs much, but do leave them outside year-round (we have mild winters). It is a very nice looking wheel but could be a bit more functional with sturdier wood trim. I would still recommend this chair, and in fact am buying a couple more for myself.
