Waterpik Ultra delivers water pressure of 10-90 PSI and 1,200 pulses per minute. | The Waterpik Ultra goes way beyond flossing to keep your gums their healthiest. Waterpik has designed the WP-100 to deliver a water pressure of 10 to 90 PSI with 1200 pulses per minute. This system delivers a clinically proven combination of water pressure and pulsation to remove debris and bacteria lodged deep between teeth and below the gum-line -- three times deeper than brushing alone. In addition, it massages and stimulates the gums to improve circulation and help promote strong and healthy gums. The Waterpik Ultra is so effective that it is clinically proven to be up to 93-percent more effective than flossing at reducing gum bleeding -- a key indicator of impending gum disease. In fact, there are over 50 published clinical studies that show the Waterpik Dental Water Jet provides significant oral health benefits, for people who wear braces, have diabetes, and have mild to moderate gum disease. That's why Waterpik is the most recommended brand by Dental Professionals. In addition to healthier gums, there is nothing better than the clean, refreshing feeling you'll get after using the Waterpik Ultra. While floss can often leave your gums bleeding, swollen and generally beaten up, the WP-100 makes your mouth feel great. Waterpik guarantees healthier gums in just 14 days. If, after using the Ultra for two weeks, your gums are not healthier, or if you are dissatisfied for any reason, then simply return it for a refund -- no questions asked. Waterpik UltraDental August 7, 2008 K. Russell (Sedona, AZ) I love this product. Amazon was awesome in offering a discount on Waterpik items at the same time I wanted to purchase this item. It cleans teeth and gums amazingly. Everyone should have one.
One worked one didn't August 7, 2008 GroundStar (Battle Mountain, NV, USA) The only reason for the four and not five star is the first unit broke two days out of the box. The replacement worked fine. The product does what it says it does, and does it well. However using it as described in the instructions is a bit painful. Following the different instructions from my dentist make it much more comfortable. While it's water hose is a bit thin making me ponder it's life expectancy the unit seems durable. I would feel better if the dentist's and the products manuals indicated the same manner of use. While using this product, teeth cleaning is a bit more messy, time consuming and scares the Kats, my teeth are in better condition.
LOVE IT! August 6, 2008 Luv my little kitty (LINY) I absolutely LOVE this machine. My mouth feels so clean after use, and it truly is amazing the stuff that still comes out after brushing and flossing (although flossing seems unecessary if using this machine).
It definitely says in the instructions to empty it after every use, and to unplug the unit, so don't pay attention to reviewers who say the reservoir leaks, especially if they are leaving water sitting in it after use (which is kind of gross--the idea of using water that's been sitting for hours to clean your mouth????). I can't imagine not using up the water anyway, it only takes about 2 minutes---the recommended time to brush your teeth, so I can do 2 minutes for each to get teeth THIS clean. And you can always just put less water in. The reservoir is very easily lifted up so that you can run water into it, and dump out any left.
So, for the test, I used Listerine Smart Rinse after brushing and flossing; this particular product "shows" leftover plaque by clinging to it and helping to remove any left in your mouth---it turns color so that you see clear rinse with tiny colored liquid---supposedly the plaque. I originally thought the rinse didn't work, because it ALWAYS had colored particles when I spit out after brushing and flossing, no matter how careful and thorough I was. Well, after using the waterpik the first time, I tried the Listerine rinse again----not a single bit of colored liquid pieces, all of it was clear---proving to me that not only did the waterpik get at all the gunk in my mouth, but the rinse really did work. I won't really need it anymore (I originally bought if for my kids---they didn't ever use it, so I was just using it till it was gone) since I know the Waterpik gets it all so clean!!!!
As for how long it lasts---I don't know. But it has a 2 year warranty, and I would definitely buy another if I had to in 2 years.
good value good features August 4, 2008 Jenny Krytus (Buffalo, NY USA) I ordered this because I find it really difficult to floss with braces on. I borrowed one from a friend that was a different brand and knew I had to have one. This unit has some good attachments, I threw the tongue scraper out though since there isn't enough storage in the lid for all the attachments. The cord and the hose are a nice length suitable for most bathroom set ups. The pressure on the unit is not as strong as I had hoped. I have to crank it to 8 or 10 to get a real feeling of clean. The lower settings would be good for irrigation. I find that one full tank of water is enough to "floss" the teeth. If you have trouble flossing or have braces, I highly recommend getting this machine.
JUNK!! August 4, 2008 R. Gamber 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
