I have been using cheap hair straighteners for the last six years and finally decided to buy a Chi after I heard raves from my sister and friends. My hair is really thick and curly, and with my prior iron, it took me about 1.5 hours to get it all sleek and straight. Now, I can straighten all my hair in about 30 minutes!!!!! I am so excited to be able to wear my hair like this, straight hair used to be only for special occasions! The iron heats really fast and maintains it. My only complaint would be that I have burned the tips of my fingers a few times after running my fingers through my hair right after the iron went through. But, I have learned to wait a few minutes before touching my hair! Also, the iron seems to leave my hair silky and smooth for days after straightening it, even after washing. It is definitely a great invesetment for anyone who wants shiny, straight hair.

I purchased my Chi from Amazon just 3 months ago. It worked great until today when it wouldn't turn on. I wish I would have listened to the other reviewers that said this happened to them. Now I'm going to go to Trade Secret and buy one for $129.99 with a LIFETIME guarantee (with reciept & box). Amazon's 30 day return/exchange policy does not say much about the quality of the products they sell.
