Almost perfect... October 4, 2008

This is my favorite of the Healthy Choice soups. It has a great texture -- the rice isn't pasty -- much preferable to any of those canned-potato soups. Has a very likeable blend of veggies that add to the texture and taste. Good taste straight from the can, but I find myself always adding a bit of something. A bit of lemon juice or a sprinkle of nutmeg make it pretty near perfect.

I eat the healthy choice line for a reason: low calorie and low salt. Unfortunatly, salt is what this needed to intensify the flavors that are there! I was able too jazz up the second can by adding some fresh salsa (lots of onion and cilantra) to the soup. That took care of the taste issue and also helped me to stretch it to two real servings.
All in all, this is a great in a pinch lunch to have in hand, salsa or no, but most I often I have the salsa as well.

The taste of this soup is a little bland, but it could be due to it's low sodium. However, it has a healthy mixture of rice, vegetables, and chicken and is able to keep me full during lunch, and it's taste can be modified by adding a little bit of fresh ground pepper.

This soup is unexpectedly good.
We cannot eat most canned food because of the high sodium content, so Healthy Choice products are a possible alternative. Usually they are boring. This one is a nice exception. It's not spicy, it's just flavorful, and has lots of good-looking vegetable and beans (and a few chunks of chicken).
Of all the "healthy" soup varieties we have tried, this is the one we would look forward to having again.

This is one of the better tasting Healthy Choice Soups. It actually has flavor even though it's still too high in salt content. It's too bad they don't use Sea Salt or one of the other natural salts like Amy's Organic Soups do. Then the high level of salt would not be quite as disturbing as they are in most of the Health Choice Soups. But if salt isn't a worry to you, then I highly recommend this soup as well as the Healthy Choice Wedding Soup for great taste. If your concerned about good nutrition.......that's a whole different opinion and recommendation.
