5 out of 5 stars yummy   May 30, 2008

I really like crystallized ginger in general, but I especially like Reed's baby ginger. I find that it's usually a little bit softer, moister, and less stringy than some other kinds I've had (e.g. the stuff I've found on sale in plastic containers Whole Foods). It's sweet, and the flavor is plenty strong, which is really the whole point and is true of all that I've tried so far.

5 out of 5 stars Best Ginger You Will Every Eat!   May 28, 2008
Cynthia C. Suntzenich (P.S.L., Florida)
This is the best ginger I have every had. I am addicted to it! I used to purchase ginger chews from a different company but the paper would always stick to the ginger & the taste was bland compared to Reeds. This ginger is fresh & contains baby roots. If you are not a true lover of ginger, this product is not for you. If you love ginger,I suggest you buy at least 2 orders because they will be gone in no time!
I keep a bag in the car & one at my computer. I also "pop" a few pieces right after taking my meds to ease my tummy.
I have my whole family hooked on it! Trust me, you will love this product!

1 out of 5 stars Different...   March 12, 2008

Everyone else seems to like this stuff, but ick, I definitely don't! To...ginger-y for my tastes. Really strong, but then again, I'm the type that has such a short attention span that I always bite candy, so maybe that's why. Now Reed's real ginger ale...I wish Amszon sold that by the truckload!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent candied ginger - mild with a good texture.   March 3, 2008

I have to say that this crystallized ginger exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The pieces are about the size of small gumball. It has a wonderful flavor and texture. The baby ginger used is mild, not anywhere near as "biting" as most crystallized ginger. However it still has a pleasant, rich ginger flavor. The fact that it is steeped in raw cane syrup also gives it a nice slight hint of molasses. This process also imparts the great texture this product has. Very pleasant to eat, not tough to bite or chew at all. The texture reminds me of dried papaya spears. It is quite enjoyable to eat right out of the bag, and I often find I have to stop myself from scarfing down too much in one sitting. Very addictive!!!

5 out of 5 stars Unexpected and very different   February 21, 2008

I've been a big fan of the Reed's Ginger Candy (chews), but the crystallized version is definitely different. I'm not a big fan of jellied candy, so when I popped one of these in my mouth and got hit with the sweetness, and spongy texture I was afraid that when I bit into it there would be a jellied consistency, but it isn't. It's tender ginger. A tender fibrous chew. Not gooey. Obviously hard to describe. You're first hit with sweet (not too sweet), and then the ginger comes along to finish with a wonderful burst of tangy flavor. Not too strong, but just right. Yum! I still prefer the chew version, but I think I'm getting a bigger dose of ginger in the crystallized form, and it's good, too.
