Delicious Soup November 13, 2008 Matthew M. Knight (Spokane, WA) This is a great soup. It's light, delicious, has big noodles and chunks of chicken, and not filling. Since it's organic it's good for you as well. I'm a huge fan of this whole line of soups. I highly suggest you try them they are worth the money.
great soup, a bit too much sodium June 1, 2008 Jon Norris (Oregon, USA)
Canned or packaged foods, even if organic, are never as healthy as fresh or home prepared. However, given the "rats on meth" pace of our lives these days, we don't always have time to eat properly or prepare healthy meals. In that case we need to pick the healthiest "convenience" foods we can.
Wolfgang Puck is a famous chef and his line of foods includes some organic (only USDA Organic; a weak standard, but better than nothing) foods like this.
Taste-wise, I found it very good, although much better with some organic butter added. The "low-fat" nonsense that has poisoned us for decades takes its toll on taste as well as health. One finds people adding more salt or even MSG in the absence of real flavor, which is mostly in the fat. (Hmmmm, oh, well, no time to go into a rant here.) Which is not to say this is billed as a "low fat" soup.
Most of the ingredients listed are organic (USDA), and there are only a couple of questionable entries. One finds "spice extractives," "natural flavor," and "organic spice" all listed, and all of these can be code words for MSG. MSG can legally be called a dozen different such things, and while they might also be part of a "secret recipe," it raises the specter of doubt. That could also contribute to the sodium content, which is over 1.4 grams in the entire can (supposedly two servings - I find it more like one). If I could be sure there was no MSG in it, I would rate it higher.
Still, it is far better than your run-of-the-mill non-organic soup, and I keep it around for those times when a quick bowl of warm chicken soup is just what one needs. There is a good blend of protein and fat in here, and it does taste good.
Tasty Organics! February 17, 2008 Nancy (Stafford, VA United States) It's very good. The noodles alone put all other soup noodles to shame. They're fresh, firm, and just the right size. The broth is darker and richer than other canned chicken noodle soups I've tried. It's also seasoned well with lots of chicken and veggies. Nice to have organic products that taste good!
Tastes great but too expensive January 25, 2008 JohnDubya (Missouri, USA) This soup tastes awesome! I bought a box of it awhile back and loved it! I got it on sale, or I wouldn't have gotten it. It's too expensive. But if you've got the money, it's well worth it!
Better Than His Show October 27, 2007 W. T. Towles (Fincastle, VA USA) I don't much like Wolfgang's show on The Food Channel, but his soups are spectacular! I buy them in quantity. So long to Progresso.
