Product Description Rayovac's patent-pending I-C3 technology (In-Cell Charge Control) puts the control of the recharging into the battery, instead of the charger. This breakthrough in NiMH technology offers significant performance and convenience over existing rechargeable and disposable battery systems.

BATTERIES ON THE GO October 28, 2008 STATIC (ST ALBERT AB CANADA) I HAVE USED THESE RAYOVAC BATTERIES FOR YEARS. I HAVE MANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES SO THE NEED FOR AA AND AAA BATTERIES IS NEVER ENDING AND THIS PRODUCT WAS ALWAYS FAST TO CHARGE AND LONG LASTING. SEEMS THEY ARE DISCONTINUING THIS PRODUCT AND THAT'S A SHAME BECAUSE, AT LEAST FOR ME, THEY HAVE OUT PERFORMED ANY OTHER BRANDS I HAVE TRIED.
Three years, still going strong in all my devices October 23, 2008 B. Bush (New Jersey) Who has time for 12-hour or even 4-hour rechargeables? I've been using Rayovac I-C3 rechargeables for 3 years with complete satisfaction in all my AA- and AAA-powered devices (cameras, music players, even a portable fan!) On the road, the 15-minute recharge lets me 'top up' during lunch, taking hundreds of pictures a day. Power-hungry cameras recycle fast and display is bright on these high-current (2300 mAh) batteries. The compact, 2-battery charger DOES work on European 230V current. After 3 years and 25000 pix, my first set of AAs is just starting to fade. I hope these stay on the market -- I've seen nothing better. High cost? Must have saved $800 already compared to discardables.
the fastest and best lasting rechargable batteries on the market. September 10, 2008 I. Burshteyn (Brooklyn) I bought the 4AA 4AAA recharger kit 3 years ago, and have been buying more batteries ever since. My digital camera and the toys my two boys play with would just devour hundreds of dollars in Durracel batteries a year, these actually charge in 15 minutes, and at 2200 mAMPs for AA they are one of the higher capacity AA batteries on the market.
Yes, the best. July 28, 2008 Bill King (Reno, Nv., United States) All the rave reviews are not wrong. I hated rechargeable batteries, until I tried these.
Some other brands take long time and their directions say to watch carefully while charging in order to intervene if overheating causes a dangerous situation. It's easy to forget to stop watching during several hours, but not 15 minutes.
There are other brands of 15 minute cells and chargers; but unless they are IC-3 they do not function the same.
I used a flashlight regularly a couple of years on the same IC-3 batteries, they worked as new. I also use in a GPS and some short wave portable radios. The smart charing system first takes a few seconds to determine how much the cells are discharged, and then it closes down to whatever amperage is needed to bring to full charge in exactly fifteen minutes. So, its always fifteen minutes (except in unusual cases).
Unusual case: If there is a problem, such as a battery completely discharged, it goes into an ultra safe slow mode, which it will also do automatically if you are charging cells of another chemistry (non IC3):i.e. another type of nickel-metal hydride or even nickel-cadmium. Other than that, its fifteen minutes every time!
It will not charge any type of alkaline including RAM cells.
There are two banks of two each in the four cell charger that plugs with a cord into the wall socket (model PS6 charger). I can put say two AAA on the left and two AA on the right, or one AA and one AAA in each bank, or just one AA or AAA in the charger. It works fine.
When the lights goes off the charging is done (a very tiny trickle keeps going), one light for each of the two banks.
If one cell out of all you put in the charger is faulty (e.g. completely discharged), the cells in the other bank will charge in 15 minutes and the bank with the faulty cell will go into a slow charge and take a much longer time, but if it is possible the charger will still fully charge it eventually, and then the light will go off. So that is almost failsafe, and will thus sometimes repair damaged cells.
I agree that the high price of the cells has taken theIC-3 system off the market. As for performance and realizability, they were at least better than most others for sure.
Great batteries for a field photographer! July 7, 2008 Jason Stutz (Massillon, OH) I am an automobile photographer and am in the field all week taking pictures of cars for dealer websites, Autotrader, and things like that. I have used these batteries for over two years and they will still hold a charge that could probably take me through a week of shooting without charging. For me that is over 500 pictures. I am so impressed with these batteries that they are the only brand I will buy. All that and they fully charge in 15 minutes!
