| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review Temperance Brennan is helping her Guatemalan colleagues identify the remains of villagers who were "disappeared" 20 years ago when she's called in to consult on four more recent disappearances. Is there a serial killer loose in Guatemala City, or is the fate of the young women who've gone missing--including the daughter of the Canadian ambassador--connected to the murder of a human-rights investigator looking into the decades-old massacre? Brennan, the protagonist of Reichs's popular series, is literally hip-deep in intrigue, between the well in Chupan Ya where she unearths the bones of women and children slain in Guatemala's bloody civil war and the septic tank in the capital where the remains of one of the missing girls turn up. Tempe is a standout in crime fiction's crowded field of forensics experts--she's one of its more complex and interesting protagonists, dealing with intriguing cases that often cross national borders and a personal life that's rich in possibilities the author skillfully exploits. Tempe--and Reichs--just keep getting better. --Jane Adams

GRAVE SECRETS They are "the disappeared," twenty-three massacre victims buried in a well in the Guatemalan village of Chupan Ya two decades ago. Leading a team of experts on a meticulous, heartbreaking dig, Tempe Brennan pieces together the violence of the past. But a fresh wave of terror begins when the horrific sounds of a fatal attack on two colleagues come in on a blood-chilling satellite call. Kathy Reichs October 6, 2008 Janis (Las Vegas, Nevada) First time I have ordered from Amazon. Just got the computer in June. I bought so many good books that I havent been able to get to this book yet. Ordering from Amazon was so neat. Just pick what you want, use my debit card and it comes right to the door. I think I owe my mailman an apology because Ive had so many packages come that it makes extra work for him. I got all the other Temperance Brennan books at the library and there were several not available any longer. So to be able to read the ones I couldn't find and sort of fill in the blanks was very exciting for me. I was surprised to see the number of selections and the private sales and to be able to choose what I wanted. I think this Christmas will be more fun than ever. No Mall hopping or crowds. It really was fun.
Literally Amazing! September 20, 2008 CarolLuvsAGoodBook (Mount laurel, NJ United States) Once again Kathy Reichs teaches me something new. Her descriptions are so detailed I feel I am standing by her side watching rather then reading. After falling in love with her TV series Bones I realized she was a best selling author. I first read Bones to Ashes on it's release. And immediately bought all back books and started from her first one up. I love her detailed descriptions!! I already have her on my preorder list waiting for her next one!
Bones VI January 19, 2008 Galen M. Ozawa (Carson City, NV United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although the Tempe Brennan in the books shares only the name and the profession with the TV character, she is also an enjoyable heroine. The author obviously does great background research for her novels. A great fun read.
