| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Pete is a perfectly predictable, practical, uncomplicated pig. At least, he was . . . before a runaway circus elephant named Pickles stampeded into his life, needing a friend. Pickles is larger than life and overflowing with imagination. She takes Pete swandiving off Niagara Falls. (Sort of.) And sledding down the Matterhorn. (Sort of.) Pete goes along for the wild ride and actually begins to enjoy himself . . . until Pickles goes too far. And Pete tells her she must leave. Yet sometimes the simple life isnt all its cracked up to be. Pulitzer Prizewinning cartoonist Berkeley Breathed offers two new irresistible characters and a heartfelt, hilarious look at the rarity of true friendship.

Sad, yet joyful December 30, 2008 Susan Smith (Rohnert Park, CA USA) I purchased this book without knowing one of the quiet little side-plots was the recent death of a spouse (not a spoiler - it's clear by page 3). Since my husband recently died, I thought others should know who might be in the same emotional place. It's a beautiful book, and can bring a sorrowing widow/widower some hope, but it sure can take you by surprise if you're not prepared <>! This is one you definitely want to pre-read before the little one climbs into your lap for story time!!!
Tale of true friendship December 17, 2008 C. Mosley (Baton Rouge, LA USA) This was a wonderful story and my daughter loves it! We read it over and over again.
A really fun book that kids will love!!! December 4, 2008 Janna Bradley I chose this book for my granddaughter because it has a message about friendship but also has lots of fun! Every time I ask her which book she wants me to read it's this one.
