Product Description
Sasha Trudeau considers herself a soldier first and a werewolf second. But while her secret government-sanctioned task-force faces its greatest challenge so far, Sasha faces something much more primal: the undeniable pull of the moon—and her own desires. With rogue wolves savaging both the human and paranormal worlds, Sasha’s team of elite operatives has one job: destroy the rogues and isolate the deadly toxin that’s poisoned their blood. But the challenge is far more complicated than Sasha could have imagined. Soon she is thrust into a full-scale supernatural war for supremacy—and the only man left who Sasha can turn to might be the biggest danger to her of all. . .and in more ways than one.

The Next Great Supernatural Series December 30, 2008 Kemetic (Ft Washington, MD) Another great series from LA Banks. Bite the Bullet takes the Werewolf genre and adds her own unique spin. This is the second novel the Crimson moon series. This book picks up where "BAD BLOOD" leaves off and puts the series into overdrive. The action in this book is non stop and the end will leave you wanting for more. An exciting book and series. PICK IT UP !!!!!!!!!!!
I'm hooked, Sasha Rocks.... December 18, 2008 melindeeloo (sb,ca) I have to admit that I haven't read any of Banks' Vampire Huntress books, and wasn't captured by her 'shorts' when I've come across her in anthologies, but I am fully hooked on the Crimson Moon series. The special ops/supernatural mix, just speaks to me, and Sasha is a terrific lead -- a tough yet sexy warrior with tactical smarts.
Back from the first book is Sasha's love interest, Hunter who has shown her the Shadow Wolf side of her nature. Sasha is a bit challenged by her first `full moon heat' but she is coming to terms with her wolf self now that she now longer has to worry about becoming one of the demon infected monstrosities that she has been forced to kill in the past - she stills bears some emotional scars from having to kill her infected former captain and pack leader. Elements of the conspiracy exposed in the last book carry forward into the story here and the Shadow Wolves addicted to demon virus are a challenging enemy and provide for battles and action packed moments. But some of the best moments of the book are when Sasha's using her brain as the weapon, especially when she scores a tactical 'hit' against the scheming vamps.
The element of Sasha's having to deal with her first 'heat' as a werewolf adds some steamy moments to the story, but the real emotion comes from Hunter's struggle - he's dealing with his third flare-up of the demon taint he's carried since birth - and Sasha may have to do the unthinkable and 'put him down' should he succumb. I absolutely loved Hunter, and the whole Native American-ish culture of the Shadow Wolves -- I hope we don't lose him. But Bank's is keeping us on pins and needles by bringing back the Shogun the leader of the other non-tainted werewolf faction. There's is definitely still an attraction there and Sasha hasn't fully committed to Hunter, even if he does survive, but so far I am still rooting for Hunter.
I can't even begin to do this book justice here. It has it all- a smart action pact story, great characters, some steam and some tugging of the heartstrings. I am anxiously anticipating the next book, Undead on Arrival (Crimson Moon, Book 3), is it March yet?
Bite the Bullet review December 16, 2008 J. Gardner (Atlanta, GA) This book was as good as the first, but a little drawn out. I found myself skipping a few paragraphs to get to better parts. In spite of this, I am anticipating the 3rd book in the series, just as I was this book!
I Want To Read The Sequel...Now!!! December 16, 2008 Urban-Reviews.com (Urban-Reviews.com) Bite the Bullet is the second book in the Crimson Moon Series and the sequel to Bad Blood by L.A. Banks, author of The Vampire Huntress Legend Series. This book picks up where Bad Blood left off, with Sasha trying to rendezvous with the surviving members of her Special Ops Unit, Fisher and Woods. On the way to rendezvous with them, something strange starts to happen to Hunter as well as herself. Now, she not only has to deal with what's happening to Hunter, but her moon driven desires as well. Also, the demon-infected Shadow Wolves are still on the loose and it seems as if they are destroying everything in their path. They must be stopped before they spread the virus to other Shadow Wolves and humans. Can Sasha overcome her pull to the moon and Hunter long enough to complete her mission?
Again, L.A. Banks weaves a tale that holds your attention hostage and doesn't release it until the end. The shadow dance between Hunter and Sasha is frustrating, but keeps you hungering for more. Ms. Banks cleverly weaves a story of mystery, suspense, action, supernatural politics and sprinkles it with a dash of drama. If you haven't read the first book, Bad Blood, then you need to read it to learn the history behind the contagion and Sasha and Hunter's relationship. To those of you who read the first book, you MUST read this one. I promise you that you will not be disappointed because Ms. Banks brings back old characters and introduces a few new ones. At the end of this book, you will be dying to read the next installment, Undead on Arrival.

Bullet Bite & Rock Hard!!! December 15, 2008 Kenyetta Overton (Phila, PA, USA) In her 2nd installation of the Crimson Moon story LA rocks as usual. Her storytelling abilities shine through as bright as ever. She maintains her campfire with intrigue & poetry. While reading I sometimes expected a spoken word artist to bust out the pages & spit the scene I was reading. LA's work is phenomenal. I luv'd every word. The Crimson Moon Series is more than a page turner series...it's Methadone for VHLSers.
